New Mazak Machining Center Strengthens Production Capabilities in Olomouc

Since the beginning of 2012, a new 5-axis vertical machining center, “Variaxis 630-5X II” from Yamazaki Mazak, has been in operation in Olomouc. With this investment, the production of active and spare parts for hot forming tools is being expanded, enabling the machining of complex workpieces in a single setup.

Technical Performance Data at a Glance

The machining center is equipped with a two-pallet system and allows complete machining of small to medium-sized components. Workpieces with a diameter of up to 730 mm and a height of 500 mm can be processed with a maximum table load of 500 kg. This significantly extends the production capabilities at the site.

Efficiency Gains through 5-Axis Technology

Thanks to 5-axis machining and an integrated swiveling table, setup and clamping times are considerably reduced. All operations – from drilling cooling channels to complex contour machining and hard contour milling – can be performed on a single machine. This not only improves precision but also reduces idle times significantly.

Modern CNC Control with User-Friendly Operation

The MAZATROL Matrix CNC control is equipped with a powerful 64-bit processor and stands out for its user-friendly interface. Combined with a spindle speed of 12,000 rpm and an 80-position tool magazine, the machining center achieves high productivity while maintaining exceptional accuracy.

Conclusion

With the Mazak “Variaxis 630-5X II,” the machine park in Olomouc has been enhanced with state-of-the-art equipment. This investment strengthens competitiveness and provides the foundation for even more efficient production in the field of hot forming tools.
