Professional Journey: From Exploring to Arriving
Klaudia’s professional journey began with an apprenticeship as a laundry seamstress. However, she quickly realized that this profession was not the right fit for her. Instead of staying in a job that did not fulfill her, she made a conscious decision to end the apprenticeship. This was followed by roles in various companies – initially primarily to earn a living and gain a foothold in working life.
After parental leave, her desire grew to return to work in a part-time model that could be well combined with her private life. Klaudia used this phase for a fresh start via a second educational pathway: she completed training as an office clerk and further expanded her profile with additional training as an IT trainer. This combination opened up new opportunities and led her into a role as an IT trainer for around five years. When funding in this area was reduced and the training division of her former employer was discontinued, she once again faced change – and chose to embrace it.
Joining weba and Learning “On the Job”
Through a former colleague, Klaudia joined weba around 2008 and started in data management. At that time, this area was still part of engineering, and the range of tasks was extremely diverse – from data dispatch and component and drawing comparisons to maintaining part life cycles.
Learning Through Initiative and Team Support
One particularly formative experience for Klaudia was her first work with CATIA. Without prior experience, she gradually acquired the necessary knowledge step by step – supported by colleagues from engineering and driven by strong personal motivation. This “learning by doing” was not only professionally valuable, but also gave her the confidence to continuously familiarize herself with new topics.
New Perspectives: IT, Technical Sales, and Purchasing
After several years, Klaudia moved into IT with the aim of developing further and diving deeper into technical topics. Over time, however, she realized that purely backend-focused tasks did not match her interests. Instead, she felt drawn to the interface between technology and people – which ultimately led her into technical sales.
There, she was responsible for preparing inquiry and component data. What is now largely digitalized involved meticulous manual work at the time: each component was captured via screenshot, technically described in detail, and prepared in a way that allowed technical sales to carry out a sound evaluation. This phase deepened her technical understanding and sharpened her awareness of products, processes, and interrelationships.
In parallel, Klaudia also supported the purchasing department for a period, stepping in during a colleague’s parental leave. Tasks such as invoice checks as well as purchasing operating materials and workwear were part of her daily routine during this time. In retrospect, she says that purchasing appealed to her particularly – an experience that further sharpened her process-oriented thinking.
Finding Her Place in Sales Adminstration
Gratitude for Trust and Development Opportunities
For around ten years now, Klaudia has been working in sales administration department – an opportunity for which she is especially grateful to weba. Despite having reduced her working hours and continuing to take on tasks in data management at the same time, she was entrusted with this position, even though a full-time role had originally been planned.
Today, her responsibilities include maintaining customer and supplier portals, creating and processing inquiries, data dispatch, and project setup. Klaudia still finds the role exciting, especially because it gives her increasingly deep insights into the products. She particularly enjoys recalling her first production tours. At that time, she had little concrete idea of what toolmaking actually involved. Seeing how real components are created from data and which machines are used left a lasting impression and significantly shaped her understanding of the product.
Daily Work with Freedom and Team Spirit
Looking back, Klaudia can say that many stages of her professional life were valuable. However, her current role fulfills her the most. Decisive factors include the largely flexible time management, the varied tasks, the interaction with different departments, and the opportunity to work independently and take responsibility – always embedded in a strong team.
What she particularly appreciates about weba is the positive working atmosphere and mutual support. Benefits such as meal and coffee allowances, works council services, or joint events are not a given for her, but a sign of appreciation. Equally important to her are the option to work from home, flexible working hours, and the trust to take short-notice leave when needed. That colleagues step in during such situations is, for her, a clear expression of lived team spirit.
Motivation Through People
Klaudia’s greatest daily motivation at work clearly comes from her colleagues. The exchange, conversations, and feeling of inclusion make all the difference for her. In a supportive environment, even greater challenges are easier to manage – including tasks that may not be among one’s personal favorites.
„Character is not what we show, but what remains when no one is watching.”“ (Timo Ertel)
A quote Klaudia particularly likes, as it shows that people are often deeper than they appear on the surface and carry far more than they show.
Private Life: Freedom, Nature, and New Horizons
In her private life, Klaudia travels as often as possible with her husband and their dog in their camper van – all across Europe. They also use weekends to discover new places whenever possible. For her, traveling is not only about relaxation, but above all about freedom and balance.
She particularly values the freedom to decide spontaneously where to go, when to move on, and where to stop. Having kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom always with you – that is exactly what makes camping life so appealing to her.
On her personal bucket list is still the northernmost point of Europe. She would also like to explore Denmark more intensively in the future, having already been impressed by the landscape while passing through. Her favorite destination so far, however, remains Sylt – not because of its reputation, but because of the climate and the impressive nature.
Fun Fact: Klaudia is very skilled with her hands and completes many projects privately herself – from removing flooring to concrete work.
Values, Mindset, and Personal Perspectives
The Perfect Day
For Klaudia, a perfect working day is achieved when all tasks are completed well, everything runs smoothly, and nothing remains open. Privately, it doesn’t take much: a harmonious, stress-free day – whether relaxed at home or by the sea in the sunshine.
Advice to Young People at the Start of Their Careers
Klaudia advises young people to simply try things out and seize opportunities. Doubts should not be overemphasized, as decisions can always be revisited. Even if something doesn’t work out as planned, the experience and what has been learned always remain – and that is exactly where personal development lies.
Klaudia demonstrates that working life is not about knowing everything from the beginning or having the perfect plan. What matters is remaining open, embracing opportunities, and finding yourself in an environment where you are seen and supported. At weba, she has found exactly that place – a workplace where trust, cohesion, and development are lived values. And this is something you can truly feel in everyday work: in collaboration, in mutual respect, and in moving forward together.
